Obtaining patents can give a competitive advantage in a crowded market, but software-related patents have particular requirements to be aware of while developing AI inventions. The result of using AI in many cases can be patentable, but in other cases not. This lecture will give AI developers the tools to assess when they may have a patentable invention. Kfir is the President of The Luzzatto Group and the fourth generation of his family to work in intellectual property.

Kfir has vast experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in different fields, including software and AI. Nowadays, he mainly directs and participates in IP litigation and oversees complex portfolios requiring sophisticated strategy planning. His extensive experience in litigation allows him a unique perspective on the development of strong IP protection for start-ups and multinational companies alike.

Inbal Tadeski, Data Science Team Leader @ Anodot

Accurate business forecasts are one of the most important aspects of corporate planning. These are enormously challenging questions to answer using only brain power and rudimentary tools like spreadsheets due to the numerous factors that go into forecasting. Machine learning applied to time series data is a much more efficient and effective way to analyze the data, apply a forecasting algorithm, and derive accurate forecasts.

Inbal Tadeski is a data scientist team leader at Anodot, the Autonomous Analytics company. Previously, Inbal was a research engineer at HP Labs, where she specialized in machine learning and data mining. She holds an MSc in computer science with a focus on machine learning from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and a BSc in computer science from Ben Gurion University.

Complicated assembly processes can be described as a sequence of two main activities: grasping and insertion. While general grasping solutions are common in industry, insertion is still only applicable to small subsets of problems, mainly ones involving simple shapes in fixed locations and in which the variations are not taken into consideration. Recently, RL approaches with prior knowledge (e.g., LfD or residual policy) have been adopted. However, these approaches might be problematic in contact-rich tasks since interaction might endanger the robot and its equipment. In this letter, we tackled this challenge by formulating the problem as a regression problem. By combining visual and force inputs, we demonstrate that our method can scale to 16 different insertion tasks in less than 10 minutes. The resulting policies are robust to changes in the socket position, orientation or peg color, as well as to small differences in peg shape. Finally, we demonstrate an end to-end solution for 2 complex assembly tasks with multi-insertion objectives when the assembly board is randomly placed on a table.

Alon Rabinovich, Co-Founder & CTO @ Eleos Health

Alon and his co-founders have seen first-hand the often devastating impact that mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety disorders have on friends and families; those experiences drive their determination to improve the quality of treatments available.

This talk will demonstrate how Eleos Health utilizes NLP and voice analysis algorithms to forensically analyze the content of therapy sessions in order to understand what works in talk therapy and to improve the quality of care.
